DEEPER READ
Arnold Eaton filed a federal lawsuit naming as defendants the Director of the Oregon Department of Corrections, former directors, administrators and employees of the department's Offender Information and Sentencing Computation Unit, members and employees of the Oregon Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision, and Washington County Sheriff staff responsible for certifying prisoner time-served credits. The nature of Eaton's claims relates to the computation or certification of his sentence or time-served credits, based on the identities of the defendants named. Magistrate Judge Youlee Yim You issued a findings and recommendation on July 2, 2026, recommending that the court grant the defendants' motion for summary judgment and dismiss the case. No party filed objections to that recommendation. Because no objections were filed, District Judge Adrienne Nelson reviewed the magistrate judge's findings and recommendation for clear error on the face of the record, which is the standard courts in this district apply when no timely objections are submitted. Finding no clear error, Judge Nelson adopted the recommendation in full, granted summary judgment to the defendants, and ordered the case dismissed. The source text does not detail the specific legal reasoning behind the magistrate judge's recommendation or identify which particular claims failed. No dissent is reflected in the source text, as this is a single-judge district court order.

The matter is now before this Court pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 636(b)(1)(B) and Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 72(b). R. Civ. P. 72(b) advisory committee’s note to 1983 amendment; see, e.g., Hayden v. United States, 147 F. Supp. 3d 1125, 1127 (D.
