Scorecard methodology and corrections

How a vote comparison is calculated

  1. Verified constituent YES and NO positions are counted for the bill.
  2. Vote weights recorded at cast time determine each side's displayed share.
  3. A mandate must be locked before an official roll call is compared with it.
  4. Aligned means the official's YES or NO vote matched the locked mandate. Defied means it was the opposite.
  5. Abstentions, missing official votes, split results, and insufficient tallies do not receive either verdict.

Minimum sample

A scorecard does not display Aligned or Defied unless at least 100 constituents are in that mandate's recorded headcount. Every displayed verdict includes that sample size.

[CONFIG] The proposed threshold is 100. At a 60% split, 100 independent votes put the 95% Wilson confidence interval's lower bound just above 50%. This display gate does not rewrite stored votes.

Sources

Official positions come from linked chamber roll-call records. Constituent totals come from the locked Civitus tally for the same bill.

Dispute or correct a score

Submit the permanent accountability record URL, the vote you dispute, the corrected value, and a primary source. Submissions remain pending until a human administrator reviews the source. An accepted correction appends a new ledger version and preserves the original.

For support that is not tied to a ledger record, use the Civitus contact page.
